President of Seneca College,Canada (hereinafter referred to as Seneca) David Agnew, altogether with the Asia Pacific international affairs director,Nick Huang,visited Guanghua International Education Association on the morning of November 4, 2013.With the leaders of GIEA and the delegates from 5 colleges in China,they had a heated discussion on the following issues and extensive exchange of views on:

(1) Planning of summer camps (study abroad experience) for Chinese students:

Time: Every April to August
Summer camp is one of Seneca’s public welfare projects, aiming at strengthening the Chinese teachers and students’understanding of Seneca and making them experience the unique English teaching methods etc.

(2) Seneca also will give its maximum support to the degree programs for Chinese nursing graduates.

(3) An overview of Seneca’s elderly nursing

In recent years,elderly care and community care has gradually become the key courses of domestic colleges and universities. Seneca gave the Chinese delegates a detailed introduction of teaching and employment of elderly care course in Canada,and affirmed the importance of Chinese nurses working in Canada in the future.

(4) Guanghua and Seneca had made a strategic cooperation in the meeting.Seneca attached great importance to promote international cooperation projects according to the different needs of Chinese colleges and universities with Guanghua as a platform,
which established a solid foundation for the future cooperations between China and Canada in nursing education.

The discussion was very lively in the meeting.Delegates from Chinese colleges and universities said that they hope to communicate and know more about the international exchange programs and have substantive cooperations with Seneca for all the above projects in 2014.

Guanghua international education association also expected to promote the international exchange of nursing education between colleges and universities both at home and abroad, and to speed up the internationalization of teaching reform in Chinese nursing colleges through this opportunity.
