On May 23, 2013, the conference "Exploring the integration of the nursing innovative course reform,simulation and nursing education;Sharing the successful experience at home and abroad" co-hosted by President Lin Ying and Secretary of general Gong LiHua was held in Guanghua International Education Association.Many nursing educational and clinical experts at home and abroad and delegates from Laerdal——the international famous medical simulation equipment company attended the meeting including Michelle Kelly, professor of the university of science and technology, Sydney, Australia,Dean Liu ping and Lecturer Wang Ailing of Hope school of nursing,wuhan university, Ruan WeiJie,general manager and Li Weiji,director of Laerdalmedical,Doctor LI Xiang from Glasgow Caledonia university (GCU) and several prominent representatives from 302 hospital,Wujing general hospital, united family hospital and many vocational nursing colleges.。

The conference theme and the experts’speech were closely related to the focus of work and development direction of GIEA——nursing education reform and innovation in China and international nursing professionals training, including four aspects: teacher training, teaching base construction, talent cultivation, and teaching/online resource construction, etc.The participating experts shared their professional knowledge and the successful experience of nursing teaching reform and provided valuable suggestions to the furture work of GIEA.。

At the beginning of the conference,President Lin Ying gave a simple introduction to the background, focus and development of GIEA.She pointed out that the nurses’ability could not meet the job requirements under the current nursing education system in China.So we should develop the international cooperations in nursing education,reference and share the advanced foreign experience and education resources with the surpport of related government departments.。

Dean Liu Ping and lecturer Wang Ailing ( HOPE school OF nursing,Wuhan University) gave a presentation on their nursing curriculum reform experience,simulation courses and online teaching resources platform.Dean Liu said that HOPE school of nursing,Wuhan university had paid attention to the cultivation of the "teaching and clinical" teachers.Their school adopted the mode of "theory to simulation laboratory to clinical"which fully integrated the simulation and the nursing courses. The positive effect of this mode had been fully proved by the clinical practice.Wang Ailing detailedly introduced the integration of simulation and nursing courses and simulation teaching and shared their simulation scenario development and teaching experience.。

Ruan Weijie,general manager of Laerdal medical, introduced the simulated teaching (scenario) resources at home and abroad and the information of international cooperation and resource sharing.Zhang ling,director of Laerdal-American heart association (AHA) cooperation projects, introduced the development of AHA cardiopulmonary resuscitation training programs in China.。

Professor Michelle Kelly,director of medical simulation and technology department, health section,university of science and technology, Sydney,as a member of simulation learning advisory group,nursing and midwifery dean commission of Australia and New Zealand,involved in the all process of Australian nursing innovation course reform and the formulating of simulation teaching standards.Despite she was very busy,Michelle Kelly still went to Beijing to attend our meeting for discuss the nursing faculty training and cooperation on the resource library construction between China and Austrilia in the future to promote the Chinese nursing education reform and international nursing personnel training through the experience sharing with GIEA and Chinese experts.Professor Michelle Kelly started with the reason and opportunity of the nursing simulation teaching reform in Austrilia,then she explained the Austrilian nursing curriculum,integration of simulation and courses,simulation teaching experience, development and application of nursing scenarios,construction of simulation centesr,simulation teachers and staff training, etc. Professor Michelle Kelly also pointed out that the institutions of various countries should develop the scenarios of their own on the basis of international resource sharing in order to meet the healthcare demands in the different countries.。

Dr Li xiang from Glasgow Caledonia university (GCU) made a speech about the nursing online resources.She introduced the GCU online course platform and emphasized the importance of combination between science&technology and nursing.。

Finally,Li Weiji,Director of Laerdal Medical,Yu Lisha,Director of 302 Hospital,Liu Jun’e,Dean of Capital Medical University,Zhang Yifan,head nurse of united family hospital,Gao Ge from Wujing General Hospital,Xu Renhua from Binzhou Medical College,Liang Ang and Jiang Yan from Sanquan COllege all expressed their views.It was generally believed that the simulation teaching is a bridge between theory and clinical.And they all hoped making further cooperations with GIEA on the talent cultivation in simulation education.。

In this conference, the nursing educational and medical clinical experts had a in-depth discussion and experience sharing on the faculty training, teaching base construction, talents cultivation, and teaching/online database construction,which provided new ideas and inspirations for the simulation teaching, faculty training and curriculum integration in Chinese colleges and healthcare providers with GIEA’s guiding as well as the valuable education resources for the specific work in the future.。
