Since 2002, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health, and other departments have implemented “The State Council’s decision on promoting reform and development of vocational education”, to strengthen the practical abilities and skills of Vocational College students, to observe the practice and training of teachers, continue the implementation of the vocational education training model, and for Vocational insitutions to learn from foreign training models, experience, training, curriculum, and teaching methods.
With the in-depth study of international nursing education, simulation learning has become recognized around the world as an efficient way to learn. It “is the most effective way of learning because it, allows for artificial preparation, practicing rare and difficult cases, making mistakes and errors without harming patients, repeating exercises many times,” and has many other advantages. Simulation study can enhance students’ abilities by offering enough chances to practice clinical skills, as well as to avoid safety issues, which shows its advantages.
Compared to developed countries, our country’s simulation education has progrssed slower. In order to solve this problem, Guanghua International Education Association along with Peking University School of Nursing, Laerdal Medical, innovated the nursing simulation curriculum, simulation teaching and curriculum integration, simulation scenario cases, application of simulation information, assessment standards, how to carry out laboratory management, teacher training and other topics.
Peking University School of Nursing invited professors and experts for training, where they were given a keynote speech from Taiwan about simulation and access to a first-class simulation training room for a demonstration on teaching. The College of Nursing faculty invited them to participate, discuss, learn about simulation training in nursing education and its development.
1. The Course Content:
Innovate the nursing simulation curriculum, simulation teaching and integration, writing simulation scenarios, application of simulation information, assessment standards, how to carry out laboratory management, teacher training and other topics.
2. The Purpose of the Training Course:
Advance nursing teacher’s level of simulation teaching, act a training model for personnel training, thereby promoting the internationalization of the nursing simulation education system.
3. Participating Experts (Phase 1):
Nursing experts for Taiwan, innovative nursing curriculum specialists, as well as other teachers and institutions will be invited.
4. The Training Target:
The targets will be at the nursing institutions, leaders in charge of reseach work, Dean’s office, graduate vocational institutes, the head of hospital care, the head of the nursing departments, and core nursing teachers.
